The Designer:
Rebecca Norman is known for her unique, limited production jewelry handcrafted at her Southern California studio. Her modern, down-to-earth style is the result of an adventurous spirit and vast global life experiences. Of Australian heritage, Rebecca grew up in Taiwan, where at an early age she developed an interest in jewelry. After moving to the U.S. in 1985, Rebecca earned a degree in goldsmithing and in 1995 Rebecca Norman Inc was formed as a creative outlet for Rebecca to express her innovative and modern jewelry designs. In recent years Rebecca began designing small collections of hand stitched hand bags exclusively for her store in Solana Beach; today they, along with her jewelry collections, are carried by retailers such as Anthropologie, Calypso, and Fred Segal.
The Jewelry: Handmade in California
Each piece of Rebecca Norman jewelry is hand crafted at her studio in California. Techniques include hand forging, hammering, soldering polishing, and stone setting. Metals used include sterling silver, 14k gold, bronze, brass, copper, and pewter. Each piece is unique. We work with two different casting companies and two plating companies - all are small businesses based in California, as are many of the numerous vendors and suppliers we work with. When you purchase Rebecca Norman Jewelry you are helping to keep small business and craftsmanship alive in the Golden State and we thank you!
The Leather Collection: Handmade in (Baja) California
In 2008 Rebecca designed her first handbags; hand stitched, ultra organic leather pouches with sewn on gemstones. They were sold exclusively in her retail store. Today, the line has grown to include leather pouches with handmade bangles, hobo bags, totes, and stunning one of a kind clutches with prong set turquoise and agates and is carried by 80 fine retailers in the United States and Canada. Rebecca Norman leathergoods are all manufactured in a small, family owned leather factory in Tijuana, CA. All hardware is handmade in California.
