The Designer:
Rebecca Norman is known for her unique gemstone wall hangings, artisan hair accessories, and one of a kind jewelry. Her modern, down-to-earth style is the result of an adventurous spirit and vast global life experiences. Of Australian heritage, Rebecca grew up in Taiwan, where at an early age she developed an interest in jewelry. After returning to the U.S. in 1985, Rebecca earned a degree in goldsmithing and in 1999 Rebecca Norman Studio was formed as a creative outlet for Rebecca to express her innovative and modern jewelry designs. Her vision has expanded to include leather bags, hair accessories and gemstone mobiles & wall hangings.
Gemstone Mobiles + Wall Hangings
Rebecca began making large scale gemstone and metal mobiles in 2015. They were carried exclusively in Rebecca's retail store. In 2019 Rebecca started making Wall Gems with some of the larger rocks and specimens she had been collecting for years. Using traditional metalsmithing skills and mounting specimens in settings that are traditionally used for jewelry, Rebecca continues to expand her design vision. Like many of her creations, Rebecca's first Wall Gems collections were originally made for her own retail store in Solana Beach, CA (2007-2020) and today are carried in 20+ fine retailers throughout the USA and are a favorite among top interior designers nationwide.
PeLo Modern Hair
Hair accessories came about as Rebecca worked on designing interesting, one of a kind gifts for her namesake jewelry store in Solana Beach, CA. Their immediate popularity as a stylish and wearable gift lead Rebecca to begin wholesaling the collection in early 2020 under the brand name PeLo Modern. Today PeLo Modern is carried by 50+ fine retailers throughout the world. Our website carries the most complete collection of PeLo hair accessories available.
The Jewelry: Design + Fabrication
Each piece of Rebecca Norman jewelry is hand crafted in her studio. Techniques include chain making, hammering, soldering, polishing, and stone setting. Metals used include sterling silver, 14k, 18k and 22k gold. Each piece is unique and available on rebeccanorman.com.
Hecho a Mano en Mexico - RN Leather Bags
In 2008 Rebecca designed her first handbags; hand stitched, ultra organic leather pouches with sewn on gemstones. They were sold exclusively in her retail store and at Fred Segal in Los Angeles. Today, the line has grown to include leather pouches with handmade bangles, cross body bags and totes and is exclusively available on www.rebeccanorman.com. Rebecca Norman leathergoods are manufactured in a small, woman owned leather factory in Tijuana, Mexico.
