The Designer:

Rebecca Norman is known for her unique gemstone wall hangings, artisan hair accessories, and one of a kind jewelry.  Of Australian heritage, Rebecca grew up in Taiwan, where at an early age she developed an interest in jewelry.  After returning to the U.S. she earned a degree in jewelry design & manufacturing and later founded Rebecca Norman Studio as a creative  outlet to express her innovative and modern jewelry designs. Rebecca's jewelry collections have been carried by Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Ave, Tomorrowland, Ron Herman, and many independent boutiques and retailers around the world.  Her vision has expanded to include artisan hair accessories and gemstone home decor, all handcrafted using the same jewelry and metalsmithing techniques that have been honed over the years.  R.Norman Studio is currently based in Gold Coast, Australia. 

 The Jewelry: Design + Fabrication

A note from Rebecca:  After stepping away from jewelry making these past 3 years, I am slowly but surely returning to the fold.  Enjoying the calm and tedious process of chain making, working with new stones, and somehow making jewelry, hair pins and wall gems in one space is working for me right now.  I will continue to post new pieces as they are made and will be taking a lapidary course starting next month so please stay tuned.  Thank you.

Each piece of Rebecca Norman jewelry is hand crafted in her studio.  Techniques include wax carving, chain making, soldering, polishing, and stone setting.  Metals used include sterling silver, bronze, 14k, 18k and 22k gold.  Each piece is unique and available on RebeccaNorman.com. 

Gemstone Mobiles + Wall Hangings

Rebecca began making large scale gemstone and metal mobiles in 2015.  They were carried exclusively in Rebecca's retail store in Solana Beach, CA (2007-2021).  In 2019 Rebecca started making Wall Gems using some of the larger gems + specimens she had been collecting for years.  Using traditional metalsmithing skills and mounting large gems in settings that are similar to those used for jewelry, Rebecca continues to expand her design range.   Like many of her creations, Rebecca's first Wall Gems collections were made for her own retail store in Solana Beach, CA (2007-2021) and  today are carried by Free People and on the Rebecca Norman website. 

PeLo Modern Hair

Hair accessories came about as Rebecca worked on making interesting, one of a kind gifts for her namesake jewelry store in Solana Beach, CA.  Their immediate popularity as a stylish and wearable gift lead Rebecca to begin wholesaling the collection in early 2020 under the brand name PeLo Modern Hair.  Today PeLo Modern is stocked in 40+ fine retailers throughout the world including Free People, the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, trailblazing shops Alma and Len Collective, and numerous other museum shops, vintage stores, plant shops and resorts.  As seen in Cool Hunting December 2024.
